BIRTH Usain Bolt was born on August 21, 1986, in Sherwood Content, a small town in Trelawny Parish, Jamaica.

FAMILY BACKGROUND Bolt was born to Wellesley and Jennifer Bolt. His parents ran a local grocery store in the rural community. He has a brother, Sadiki, and a sister, Sherine.

So, here's this teenage kid, 15 years old, at the 2002 World Junior Athletics Championships in Jamaica. Home turf, you'd think, nerves of steel. Nope. The crowd goes wild, expecting greatness, and young Usain gets so flustered he puts his shoes on the wrong darn feet! You'd think that would spell disaster. It did not. Bolt rockets across the finish line anyway, becoming the world's youngest junior gold medalist. Talk about showing off under pressure.

Fast forward a few years, and Bolt's a lightning bolt on the track, living up to his nickname (which, by the way, sprouted during a pre-Olympics thunderstorm – poetic, eh?). Beijing 2008, the 100m final. The world watches, breathless, as Bolt smashes the world record. Here's the kicker: the man fueled his record-breaking sprint with a diet of, wait for it, chicken nuggets. A thousand of them, apparently, over ten days. Seems he wasn't too keen on the Beijing culinary scene. Still, gotta respect the champion's… interesting… pre-race rituals.

That same Beijing race? Bolt he ran into a slight headwind with his shoes untied the entire race. Running into a headwind with untied shoelaces? Most of us would faceplant. Bolt? He shrugs it off like a minor inconvenience and zooms past the competition.

Bolt's record-breaking didn't stop there. In 2009, at the World Championships in Berlin, he shaved a massive chunk of time off his own 100m record, clocking in at an insane 9.58 seconds. That's moving faster than most speeding bullets. The man was a human blur.
